Success Rate FAQs

What are Conception IVF success rates?

The data below comes directly from our 2021 Clinic Summary Report and reflects all IVF cycles performed at Illume Fertility in 2021. While this may seem like older data, it’s actually the most accurate and complete information available.

Here’s why: compiling fertility success data takes time. Some patients choose to freeze embryos for later use, and pregnancies naturally take months to confirm and track. As a result, not all 2021 cycles were fully completed until well after that year ended.

Disclaimer:
Clinic success rates are not always directly comparable, as patient medical histories, treatment protocols, and eligibility criteria for assisted reproductive technology (ART) can differ from one clinic to another. For the most up-to-date national statistics, visit the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) website.

According to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), the national average IVF success rate in 2021—measured as the percentage of live births per cycle—varied by age group.

Approximate Live Birth Rates per Egg Retrieval
  • Under 35 years old: ~54.5%

  • Ages 35–37: ~40.2%

  • Ages 38–40: ~26.0%

  • Ages 41–42: ~12.8%

  • Ages 43 and older: ~4.1%

SART also reported that the national average live birth rate per new patient in 2021 was about 32.7% across all age groups.

This figure reflects the likelihood of a new patient achieving a live birth after beginning IVF treatment, accounting for multiple cycles if needed.

Disclaimer:
Comparing clinic success rates directly may not be meaningful, as patient characteristics, treatment methods, and eligibility criteria for assisted reproductive technology (ART) can differ between clinics. For the most current statistics, visit the SART website.

You can use SART’s interactive data tool to estimate your personal chances of IVF success over time.

This tool allows you to indicate whether you’re using your own eggs or donor eggs/embryos, review implantation rates, and compare success statistics across different fertility clinics—helping you make informed decisions about your family-building journe

The best way to boost your chances of success is to focus on the factors you can control. By making mindful choices around lifestyle, nutrition, and physical activity, you can help your body work with you—not against you—on your fertility journey.

Here are some key areas to prioritize:

Preconception Health – Making healthy lifestyle changes now can have a lasting impact. Start with our free 90-Day Preconception Checklist to learn what steps you can take today to support your future success.

Fertility Testing – While it’s tempting to jump right into treatment, completing your diagnostic cycle first gives your doctor and Care Team the information they need to create the most effective, personalized plan for you.

Holistic Fertility Support – Research shows that adding supportive therapies—like counseling, acupuncture, nutritional guidance, and support groups—can enhance your overall well-being and may even improve outcomes. At Illume Fertility, every patient has access to our Integrated Fertility & Wellness (IFW) program, designed to care for both mind and body.

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) – Especially beneficial for older patients, PGT helps evaluate embryo quality and identify chromosomal or structural abnormalities that could affect implantation success or a baby’s health.

If you’re under 35 and in an opposite-sex relationship, it’s recommended to schedule a visit with your OB/GYN or a fertility clinic if you’ve been having unprotected sex for one year without becoming pregnant. For those 35 and older, that timeframe shortens to six months.

If you’re a single parent by choice, part of a same-sex couple, or at risk of passing on a genetic condition, you should reach out to a fertility specialist right away.

Additionally, if you’ve experienced one or more miscarriages—or have any concerns about your ability to conceive—don’t hesitate to schedule a consultation sooner.

Even if your chances of conceiving with your own eggs or sperm are as low as 1%, the team at Conception IVF will do everything possible to help you achieve your goal. And if you choose to explore other family-building options—such as donor conception or surrogacy—our experienced team is here to guide and support you every step of the way.

SART does not currently track success rates for intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles. However, IUI success rates generally range from 5% to 15% per cycle, depending on each patient’s unique circumstances.

The Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) is the leading U.S. organization representing professionals in the field of assisted reproductive technologies (ART). SART regularly publishes national IVF success rate reports and shares valuable clinical data to help patients make informed decisions.

SART gathers information from more than 86% of IVF centers in the United States and presents it in easy-to-understand “snapshot” reports, allowing patients to see how different age groups and cycle types perform at each clinic.

Clinics that report to SART are recognized for their transparency and integrity, as they must submit accurate data for all IVF cycles—both successful and unsuccessful—and use nationally accredited laboratories. These clinics are dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care.

Conception IVF  has proudly been a member of SART since our founding in 2002. You can view our most recent Clinic Summary Report here.
